WBI Graduates Ready For World Of Beauty
On June 21st, 2008, graduation ceremonies and dinner were held at the world renowned Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, California. Graduate students, their families and friends, other students, WBI instructors and staff from all campuses were in attendance to celebrate their most wonderful achievement.

WBI Students Give Blood For Cancer Patients
As WBI students know, earning their diplomas in Cosmetology mean long hours of preparation, study, dedication, and a commitment to their community, giving of their time and energy performing beauty services and participating in many different community events. On Friday, June 27th, WBI students went above and beyond the giving of their time and energy, also giving their own blood to a community cause.
Revealed: Where WBI Gets Winners!
Western Beauty Institute has had winner after winner recently and the question of where do all these winners come from has been raised. The answer is simple of course. Our winners are the students that come to school everyday on their quest to obtain the knowledge and hours to qualify for the license from the State Board.
WBI Graduates Celebrate Mass
A long running tradition of some graduates at Western Beauty Institute has been to celebrate Catholic mass the day preceding their graduation. This service is performed at the request of those students for whom Catholicism is a large part of their lives, spiritual and physical.

Again, WBI and Randy Fugate win BIG! They now have a prestigious Telly Award as validation of the quality of their marketing efforts. The Telly Awards have long been an industry arbiter of quality and excellence. And, now they have said Randy Fugate and WBI are producers of top quality commercials, equal to many of the world’s most exclusive agencies.
WBI Hits The Jackpot at Pechanga Casino
On June 1st, Western Beauty Institute instructors and students were invited to the Pechanga Casino and Resort in Temecula, California to participate in this year’s Super Sunday event sponsored by SuperCuts.
WBI Instructors Attend Pivot Point Seminar
Western Beauty Institute’s teachers attended instructional presentations given by Pivot Point Institute on June 1st as part of the SuperSunday event held at the popular Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California.
WBI Attends 2008 Ultimate Teachers Awards Ceremony
Again this year, Supercuts stylists were invited to nominate their most influential instructor for the Ultimate Teacher Awards, held on Sunday, June 1st, at the Pechanga Casino in Temecula, California. Three new teachers from around the Southland were honored for their compassionate service and work. We salute them all.
WBI Wins Fourth Year in a Row at Super Sunday!
For the fourth year in a row Western Beauty Institute students collectively won the competition for largest number of students at the Supercuts SuperStyles event. In fact, this year Western Beauty Institute won First Place AND Second Place school attendance award.
WBI Wins Big at Super Sunday!
Western Beauty Institute has another winner! The Lancaster team of Rebecca Garcia, stylist, and Katie Scavo, model, won second place at the fabulous Super Sunday extravaganza. The event was held again this year at Pechanga Casino and Resort near Temecula, California.
WBI Gets and Gives The Luxury Spa Treatment
The Esthetics branch of Western Beauty Institute is becoming the polished, shiny jewel in the WBI crown. Formerly a medical facility and just steps away from the large, main branch of Western Beauty Institute’s Antelope Valley Campus, the Esthetician’s Skin Care center retains that finished, medical office feel with the warmth of an upscale spa.
WBI Esthetics (Skin Care) Facility Adds Vichy Shower
Recently, Western Beauty Institute installed into the Esthetics facility of the Antelope Valley Campus the area’s only Vichy shower. The Vichy shower is generally found in the finest hotel or resort spas and is an experience worth having.

Cosmetology Work: Cosmetology professionals are responsible for the personal appearance of their clients. In addition to the basics of their job, a cosmetologist may provide advice to their clients about how to care for their hair, types of hair care products to buy and use, hair color, and more.
Cosmetology professionals may also give their clients manicures, pedicures, or scalp and facial treatments.
Cosmetology Skills: The cosmetology profession requires a great deal of interpersonal skill and an ability to communicate effectively with clients, as the cosmetologist is helping clients with their personal appearance and even their self image.
Cosmetology jobs also require an understanding of the latest trends in personal appearance and fashion. Since a large percentage of cosmetologists are self-employed, a fair degree of business savvy is also important.
Cosmetology School Courses: Courses in cosmetology schools train you in all aspects of personal care, including personal hygiene, haircutting and hairstyling, skin care, scalp care, facial massaging and more.
Some cosmetology students may opt to have a more specialized focus in their course work, and take courses in manicures, pedicures, and electrolysis.
Cosmetology schools also generally include practice on live "customers" in school shops used for training purposes.
Cosmetology Employment: A large percentage of cosmetology school graduates are self employed, often working as part of a larger salon.
Other cosmetology professionals work on salary within the salon. About 90% of cosmetologists work in various aspects of hair and facial care, with the remainder finding employment as manicurists, pedicurists, skin care specialists, or shampooers.
Job prospects for graduates of cosmetology schools are expected to be excellent.
